These "rules" are generally put in place by RV parks to keep everyone, including your pet, a happy camper!
1) Be sure that your dog knows basic obedience and responds to basic commands. This is the foundation for good behavior.
2) Before you start your journey, take a picture of your pet and keep it in a safe place in your camper.
3) Micro-chip Implantation is not only affordable these days, but could be a life saver to help reunite you with your pet. Ask your vet about this technically advanced option.
4) Call the RV park ahead of time to make sure your dog is welcomed. Some RV parks that allow dogs may deny specific dog breeds.
5) Bring your dog's current and up-to-date health papers and ID tags. This is something you don't want to leave home without.
6) Create an additional tag for your dog to wear that includes your name and cell phone number.
7) Picking up after your dog shows owner responsibility and you and your dog will be more welcomed when fellow RVers see you doing your part to look after your pet and this includes keeping your dog off other RV sites.
8) Keep a leash on your pet at all times (six foot leashes are preferable by RV parks). This is a rule to keep your dog safe and gives him a sense of security when everything around him is so new.
9) Bring your pet's bed and toys from home. No need to buy new pet products when what he is use to will make him feel right at home in the RV.
10) Never leave a pet alone in an RV during hot weather. It takes one time to wish you could turn back the hands of time. Just don't do it!
Your pet will be happy and so will your RVing neighbors when you have control over your traveling pal!
